Mit Kvindeliv

Pregnancy, birth & postpartum.

When you need professional guidance and time for your questions.

Pregnancy, birth and the time afterwards can raise questions and choices where there is not necessarily one right answer.

At Mit Kvindeliv I offer specialist advice and decision support based on your situation, your history and what is important to you.

After a birth I also offer post-birth consultations, where I can go through your experience with you, help you understand what happened and discuss any questions about a later pregnancy or birth.

I do not provide routine antenatal care, acute assessments, physical examinations or treatment.

What can I help you with?

Advice during pregnancy

Do you have questions about your pregnancy, or would you like a second opinion on information you have already been given?

I help you get an overview of the relevant options and prepare the questions you want to discuss with the place where you receive your care.

Choices around the birth

Place of birth, induction, pain relief, vaginal birth or caesarean section can be decisions that depend on personal preference.

I help you understand the advantages, disadvantages and uncertainties and clarify what is important to you.

The specific plan for the birth continues to be agreed with your place of birth.

Post-birth consultation

Has your birth or time after birth been different or more difficult than you expected?

In a post-birth consultation we go through the course together, and I help you understand what happened, get answers to your questions and get an overview of what the course may mean for a later pregnancy or birth.

Typical questions

  1. I have questions or worries during my pregnancy – can you help me get an overview?
  2. How do I best prepare for conversations and choices during pregnancy?
  3. How can I prepare for my birth?
  4. What options do I have if I am worried about giving birth?
  5. How should I think about vaginal birth versus caesarean section?
  6. I have had a difficult birth before – what might that mean for a new pregnancy and birth?
  7. Can I have my birth reviewed afterwards?
  8. My birth or time after birth did not turn out as I had imagined – can I get help understanding what happened?

Your situation, your options

I start from your history, your questions and what is important to you.

During pregnancy and before the birth, I can help you understand information, weigh up options and prepare for conversations and decisions in your ordinary pregnancy and birth care.

After the birth I can go through your experience with you and help you understand what happened and what questions it may raise going forward.

If your symptoms or situation require a physical examination, an acute assessment or treatment, this must go through your place of birth, your own GP or another relevant healthcare service.

Mit Kvindeliv does not replace routine maternity care and does not treat complications of pregnancy, birth or the time after birth.
